Veal escalope "à la Vallée d'Auge", roast pork with apple in cider, mussels in white wine and herbs or "à la crème". Apple cake, Crème Brûlée and many more delicacies difficult to resist. This region is well known for its cattle breeding, and because of that, the meat is at its best. Dairy products like butter and crème fraîche are well known and go very well together with Calvados, Pommeau and Cidre, the regional drinks. Not forgetting seafood, most of it is marketed directly in the little fishing harbours. What would Normandy be without the famous cheeses ? Just to name three : Camembert, Livarot and Pont-L'Évêque, but there are many, many more to discover.
